Route made by the hiking group SERMAR.
We are in the beautiful city of Sibiu, west of Brasov. Of Saxon heritage and German aspect it has gone from being a historical commercial, economic and cultural focus to an important tourist reference. Its unique historic center earned it to be considered one of the most beautiful cities in the country. Stone alleyways with medieval aspect form a magical route between picturesque corners, stairways and squares converted into a meeting place by the neighbors. The most outstanding, the Plaza Grande.
There, some of the most important buildings in Sibiu, the Biserica Romana church, the Town Hall tower or some of its palaces, former properties of wealthy merchants, stand. There are no shops, cafes and restaurants among colorful houses. Some sections of the old wall and the beautiful Puente de las Mentiras are still preserved.
