The section of the wall in this stretch begins at Heunginjimun, passes the Gwanghuimun gate and extends to the Jangchung Gymnasium. The section of wall around Heunginjimun is on the lowest ground of the entire wall. Therefore, the Ogansumun and Igansumun water gates (the water gates consisted of five arched gates and two arched gates) were built here to drain the city's water into streams outside the wall. Several army-related facilities were also clustered here, including Hadogam (Hullyeondogam Sub-Office), Yeomchocheong (Gunpowder Department), Hullyeonwon (Military Training Ground). During the Daehan Empire, the tram line and new streets were built in addition to the Gyeongseong Stadium in the Japanese colonial period. After liberation, the streets were widened and new houses were also built in the area. All of this construction activity caused most of the main wall structure to be removed over the past century, but now the Igansumun water gate is being rebuilt on its original site, and the remains of the Hadogam foundations have been moved inside Dongdaemun Cultural and Historical Park for public display. . People who want to visit this part of Hanyangdoseong can also stop at Dongdaemun Design Plaza or go shopping at nearby Dongdaemun Market, Pyeonghwa Market, and Bangsan Market.
