Itinerary description
Sagalassos Antik Kenti is a treat. The ruins are 7 kms from Ağlasun, which is roughly 100km north of Antalya. Sagalassos is laid out on terraces at an altitude of around 1500mt, but a mixture of epidemics and yet another earthquake forced the inhabitants to resettle in the nearby valley in the 7th Century.
Large-scale excavations started in the 1990s and a number of buildings, monuments and archaeological remains have been exposed, documenting the city's Hellenistic, Roman and early Byzantine history. The site invites a rather straightforward exploration, including the Lower and Upper Agora, the Nymphaeum, the Fountain House and Imperial Baths, not to forget the Ancient Roman Theatre slightly to the east.
You can use the app to get around, but in the end it probably is much more about just wandering about and soaking it up at leisure. Based on - https://www.wikiloc.com/hiking-trails/sagalassos-antik-kenti-aglasun-burdur-132172009
