Itinerary description

Royston to .... Well, it doesn't make it to Cumberland. However, a nice wide, flat rail-to-trail may be ridden by bike or walked or run. It's also nearly impossible to get lost, although therein one surprising turn.

The Big Tree

Actually, it's not big. Al the other trees are just small, meaning still growing after the last spate of logging in this area...when the Big Tree was apparently left behind.

The Trail Forks

Here the proper route is a right turn to stay west-south-west-bound, although the route looks straight on the map. In fact this little jog to the right corrects quickly back to a steady west-south-western direction. Going "straight" here is forbidden. It is a private logging road.

Wow! Looks like a great trail. I'm very interested in railway grade trail. I'll do this one soon. Love that cvrd is making it multi use and includes horses. Perfect.
