This city is the center of North Island tourism. Here you can not stop attending a tourist spectacle about the traditions and customs of the Maori people. The same Kiwis (inhabitants of NZ) go there, because it is the way they have to remember their traditions (dances, games, songs, greetings, gastronomy, tattoos ...), tourism yes, but well made and with a lot of experience. affection
Its 79.8 square kilometer lake has a part with a white color with a high sulfur content ... it's really amazing.
They also have different parks where everything smokes (really !!) and a very interesting museum, located in an old thermal station.
