The Golden Rock is a Buddhist shrine to which believers in Buddha go on pilgrimage.
Even the nearest city (Kyaiktiyo) can be reached in different ways (by car, train or bus). From this city to the last town you have to take a small bus. And from this last town you can go uphill uphill (11 kms) or take a truck that will take you up to three kilometers before the sanctuary. The last option is the one I took.
These three kilometers are crossed through a cemented road surrounded by many Burmese pilgrims and many food-drinks stalls. It's short and also a little steep.
The shrine itself has nothing spectacular, but the most remarkable thing is the people who go there to pray at the pagoda on top of the Golden Rock (supported by a Buddha hair?).
