If you're looking for walks, you're in Japan.
The “excessive” courtesy, such a different and remarkable cuisine, the ryokans, the onsens, the lines.
Japan, the cleanest and most structured country in the world with numerous, super clean and technologically brilliant toilets. You will never have had such clean private parts.
You have to queue at a bus stop to experience Japanese rigor. Public transportation is excellent.
Urban equipment for the blind is extremely sophisticated.
They don't seem to care about water, energy, global warming and consume a lot of plastic in all forms. We wonder if in Europe, we live on the same planet as them.
There are obviously the public baths and onsens that you will miss after the trip.
If you can, you should pay for some quality hotels, ryokans and onsens to discover this amazing Japan.
We traveled with “Au fil du Japon”, a remarkable agency.
Kamakura Beautiful walk which is worth the detour.
Kawaguchiko LE Fushi, but the ride is not special.

Shirakawa-go. Very beautiful Gassho-zukuri.
Siganuma. Gassho-Zukuri, less touristy village.

Kanazawa Beautiful city, nice walk.

Kyoto. Very beautiful temples, nice walk. A must.

Hakone. Probably not worth the detour. Unless you live in Tokyo and want to get some fresh air.

Mount Nasu. Beautiful walk that shows the Alps.
Aizu-Wakamatsu Sazaedo which is worth it. The rest ?
Okama Crater Wait until mid May.
Zao-Onsen Do you like onsens?

Chuson-ji Nice walk. Temple too impressive

The Rakan are disciplines of Buddha; they are often seen near temples. Here we saw one of the temples with hundreds of Rakan, all different. The Otagi Nenbutsu-Ji Temple is worth the walk.
The Ryoan-Ji stone garden is what it is, special, exploited by tourism, but can you be Zen there?
Kinkaku-ji is certainly one to admire and is worth the trip.
Tenryu-Ji and the bamboo forest are worth seeing.
As we like to walk, when public transport is not much faster, we travel on foot to see the country. This time, the journey on foot was not remarkable and did not teach us much.
