Itinerary description
Just west of Bevan, the east and south shore of the Middle Puntledge River between the Dam at Comox Lake and the second dam at the start of the BC Hydro penstoke is a wonderful place to walk. With slightly rougher trails than on the west and north sides of the Puntledge here, the access to the river is better and the length and number of trails is greater. So also are the chances of getting lost.
This recorded route is for the Bevan Trail one way from the Comox Lake Dam to the Lower Dam. This is the trail which is higher and farther from the river. It is a shorter and slightly faster route to the Lower Dam, but has more elevation change and is harder to follow than the River Trail that parallels it a hundred meters or so closer to the river.
For a round trip, double the distance or slightly more if taking the River Trail in the other direction.
