If you're looking for walks, you're in Japan.
The “excessive” courtesy, such a different and remarkable cuisine, the ryokans, the onsens, the lines.
Japan, the cleanest and most structured country in the world with numerous, super clean and technologically brilliant toilets. You will never have had such clean private parts.
You have to queue at a bus stop to experience Japanese rigor. Public transportation is excellent.
Urban equipment for the blind is extremely sophisticated.
They don't seem to care about water, energy, global warming and consume a lot of plastic in all forms. We wonder if in Europe, we live on the same planet as them.
There are obviously the public baths and onsens that you will miss after the trip.
If you can, you should pay for some quality hotels, ryokans and onsens to discover this amazing Japan.
We traveled with “Au fil du Japon”, a remarkable agency.

We were staying near this small village which otherwise isn't of much interest. But it remains authentic even if almost all the houses are exploited by tourism. The houses are very beautiful and there are much fewer people than in Shirakawa-Go.
As elsewhere in the region, the bottom of the houses is protected against snow with straw, panels and plastic. Snowfall is abundant. The gassho-zukuri farms are very beautiful.
It is still a UNESCO village.
People still live here.
