Tendillas
Point from which we can explain the Roman antiquity, considering that the square it was the Roman forum of the city. In addition we can introduce the different economic sectors studies in the subject of Social Sciences, because the square it is the main connector of the commercial avenues, in the streets that round it there is a lot of business.
Conservatorio
In this point it will be interesting highlight the importance of, from our point of view, the arts in the educational field; in addition we can introduce our students to the music subjects with notes, instruments, important musicians… The visit of the Conservatory will be useful for increase the culture of our pupils making them concerned about the cultural wealth that Córdoba have considering that the Conservatory have a great prestige a part of a great antiquity.
Mezquita-Catedral
The visit to the Mosque of Córdoba will be an interesting point for the children to learn to appreciate the different cultures rounding us, because it is one of the most important monuments of the Islamic culture that coexist in the city. In addition, as happen with la Plaza de las Tendillas, we can use the visit to illustrate the children in the history for the Social Sciences subject.
San Rafael
The Triunfo de San Rafael is one of the numerous statues that are dedicated to San Rafael archangel and it’s located at Triumph Square, at the Cathedral district and near to La Puerta del Puente. It could be interesting to remember to pupils that in the 17th century it was an epidemic of plague in the city, and according to the history, the archangel appeared in a dream to father Andrés de las Roelas to give him the message that he will disappear the epidemic. When it started to go down, San Rafael was named as a custodian angel of Córdoba. After that, several monuments were built throughout the city in his honor.
Alcázar de los Reyes Cristianos
The Alcázar is a military fortress in which resides roman and visigothic remains with arabics. In this visit we can speak to students about of ancient civilizations and cultures that have taken place in Spain and especially in Cordoba. It could be a dynamic and innovative way to make students learn these concepts that sometimes are hard for them to understand.
Caballerizas Reales
The Caballerizas Reales are World Heritage Site, and in the present, embrace numerous shows. On the other hand, it will be an interesting way for children to see how worked the classes in the Medium Age and the form in which they divided the properties, because it was part of the Church.
Molino de la Albolafia
The Molino de la Albolafia, a part of being member of the Roman legacy of the city of Córdoba, is a really interesting point for our students to see how it take water to the cities; on the other hand is also a good way to introduce renewable energies, studies in Natural Sciences.
Puente Romano
The Puente Romano de Córdoba, another Roman legacy that belong to the city of Córdoba and, as the others points of the route, gives place to the illustrated explanation about the commercial routes and the different economic sectors that coexisted in the city. It also let us to make the children participant in the learning encourage them to make comparison with what it is happening in the present.
Río Guadalquivir
The Guadalquivir River is one of the most important rivers of Spain. It starts in Jaen, crosses all Andalucia and leads in Atlantic Ocean. It is a good example to teach the water cycle in Natural Science and learn the numerous rivers in Spain.
Baño
This statue belongs to the author Teresa Guerrero, made in 2000 and has engraved on the pedestal a few verses by the poet Ibn Shuhayd. It is located behind the hamman, the Arab baths. We can relate it with the history of the art or with the Arab culture that existed in Spain in medieval time.
Plaza del Potro
La Fuente del Potro was made in 1577. In this square horses were bought and sold, so we can explain the trade in other times.
Museo Julio Romero de Torres
This museum was created in 1931, a year after the death of the painter Julio Romero de Torres. Dedicated to his work, we can make a journey through his life, from his beginnings to his best known works such as La Chiquita Piconera, Oranges and Lemons, etc. Here we can show the importance of the painter in the Spanish culture.
