A walk backwards, and forwards, through the old area of Mainz.
The streets are full of visitors during the middle and later parts of the day - so it can be pleasant to head out a little before everyone else to get a good view of the buildings without all the people.

There are rather too many "Italian" restaurants in Mainz. So if you want a change and like Syrian/Lebanese food then this is the place to go. Food was great, price was very reasonable.
