Itinerary description
This is a mainly urban walk, starting from Mattar MRT station and following the Pelton Canal park connector. The initial part passes through residential part of Pelton Canal, with some bioretention gardens. Once crossing Paya Lebar round (and the Breadtalk HQ), the walk becomes much more industrial, but still tolerable. The worst part is around Braddell Road, where there is some major construction underway, and the experience is pretty dismal. We transition to the Serangoon Park Connector around Hougang, and the experience gets better (and better!) as we approach Serangoon River. By the time we reach Punggol Park, sadly, we are exhausted and the rest of the trip is best left to another day.

Hougang Avenue 3
from the overhead bridge. At this point I crossed to the eastward lane, although you could theoretically continue on the westward lane.

Just survived the endless loop of concrete and traffic fumes to be greeted by this laburnum tree in full bloom...

Looking back along Pelton PC
at this point, was constantly being buzzed by RSAF Hercules, and then... if you look closely at the photo, you will see the paratroopers on their morning exercise...
