I saw the route but I didn't follow it because it wasn't complete. She turned a different direction. I think it is more interesting to walk northwest to reach the summit of Creigiau Eglwyseg and then find your way down through some impressive rocks. I suggest the following route:

Dinas Bran and Trevor Rocks. Walking up the ruined castle of Dinas Bran and continuing along the impressive Trevor Rocks.
    Start: Llangollen Bridge.
    Distance: 14.4 kilometres.
    Duration: Six hours.
    Elevation gain: About 600 metres.
    Difficulty: Medium.
General description: This is a moderate walk for experienced hikers. The only difficulty is the descent from Creigiau Eglwyseg, which might be slippery in wet conditions. This is a fascinating, visually striking circuit full of history.
The town: Llangollen is famous for its International Eisteddefod which attracts music groups and enthusiasts from around the world. There is also a kayaking championship. Kayakers use the fast-flowing waters of river Dee at several points above and below the old bridge. Experienced cayakers try the river rapids with their kayaks. There is also an aqueduct and canal world Heritage from where you could hire a boat for a tour along the canal.
The castle: The castle’s position is strategically positioned on a hill. Even before the castle was built there was a Bronze Age settlement on the hilltop. The hill fort dated back to 600 BC. The castle was built by Gruffydd Up Madog to stop the advancement of the English army. Gruffydd Up Madog died in 1269 followed by his son Gryffydd Maelor II, who died just nine years later, perhaps defending Dinas Bran during one of Edward’s first early campaigns against the Welsh. The Welsh princes only occupied the site for two decades. Dinas Brown fell for the last time in 1283 during Edwards final crushing of Wales. In 1282 during Edward’s second campaign into Wales, Dafydd ap Gryffydd, Llewellyn the Last’s rebellious brother held Dinas Bran. But Edward’s armies captured Dafydd ap Gryffydd and took him to a painful execution in England. Looking around today's weather-beaten ruins, it's hard to imagine that Dinas Bran Castle was originally a formidable medieval fortress and the splendid mansion where the Princess of Powys entertained important guests. Dinas Bran castle had a short working life which lasted scarcely two decades. From the early 1260s until its burning and abandonment in 1277 (Information by Denbighshire Countryside Service).
The hike: From the castle there is a well defined path heading down the road which is part of Offa’s Dyke’s path. The only difficulty of the route is walking down from Creigiau Eglwyseg down to the plain. From then onwards we follow well maintained footpaths through Dinbren and tarmacked roads back to Llangollen.
