Itinerary description
English (castellano debajo):
The starting point is the Gare du Day near Vallorbe. Parking spaces are available near the station. However, you have to pay. The other option is to get a little closer to le Day, cross the road, and next to a military zone there is a large free car park. Likewise, you can start the walk from the other side since from les Clées there is a road that leads to a parking lot (also free).
You can make a small loop that goes only by the waterfall (3 km) or a little longer (5 km) going around the viaduct.
Leaving the station, go under the railway tracks on the road and then walk along them towards the Viaduc du Day. The rest of the route is done by trails and will have a little more unevenness.
Arriving at the newly renovated Day Viaduct, enjoy the view as you cross it. Once on the left bank of the Orbe, take the stairs. Be careful, its condition leaves much to be desired and it can be slippery.
Then follow the path that runs alongside the Orbe dam to le Day. At the height of the Jougnenaz power station, enjoy taking a photo of the Dent de Vaulion which is perfectly aligned under the arches of the viaduct. The paved path also allows the little ones to walk. But be careful, there is a risk of falling rocks just after the tunnel.
Bathing is allowed, but be careful because the water is frozen! very very cold. If you're lucky and it's a sunny day, you'll see lots of people sitting around barbecuing all the way.
We decided to get to the village of les Clèes to make the route a little longer. The path is easy and you cannot get lost, since going from one side or the other, all trails end up reaching the same point.
During the way you will not find fountains, only on arrival at the towns.
Castellano:
