Itinerary description
As per the title, it might be challenging due to the heat if done during the early to mid afternoon, so better to start early evening and finish rather late.
We did it with 3 year old one and two a bit older children, so really no need to take a car to get there. Taking some extra water and maybe snacks for the kids might be a good idea.
Initially the road is not too exciting, some taverns and hotels along the path. When the road finish there is a face with the gate that opens the hiking path. With a bit of luck one can expect to meet some goats there. There is an option to sidestep to visit a small cave. When a short hike finishes we reach a restaurant which has quite a low score on Google maps, I guess the reason might be that the kitchen is not working, drinks are rather expensive and the owner is rude. Feel free to ignore it if you don't need to resupply water. Next we cross the parking and start a part of the trail with stairs leading directly to the church. You can take a look inside and check the view from the hill.
To get back we decided to follow exactly the same path trying to get to the hotel in time for a dinner. The other option would be to choose a bit longer car road.
