Þegar ekið er fram Víðidal frá þjóðvegi 1, kemur maður að Kolugili sem stendur við Víðidalsá. Rétt neðan við bæinn rennur áin niður í Kolugljúfur og eru þar fossar sem kenndir eru við tröllkonuna Kolu og kallast Kolufossar.
Hægt er að ganga meðfram gljúfrinu beggja vegna brúarinnar og eru þar útsýnispallar fyrir myndatökur og bekkir til að hvíla sig við eða borða nesti. Leiðin er auðgengin og fjölskylduvæn.
When driving to Víðidalur from highway 1, you come to Kolugil which stands by Víðidalsá, Just below the farm, the river flows down into Kolugljúfur and there are waterfalls that are named after the giantess Kolu and are called Kolufossar.
You can walk along Kolugil on both sides from the bridge and there are viewing platforms for photography and benches to rest on or eat packed lunches. The route is accessible and family-friendly.
