Itinerary description
A very small streamside walk to a hot water Stream (photo 2). It is free and there is a 1m deep pool under a low profile waterfall where you can go in the water (photos 4 and 5). There is also another smaller pool downstream (photo 3), but it is less deep and it is cooler.
Unlike most geothermal attractions in Rotorua and Taupo, it is not private and it is free.
For access, take Old Waiotapu Rd from SH5, the intersection will be in front of a small lake (see photo 1). Take the Old Waiotapu Rd for approximately 2 km, stop at the parking and the trail will be along the river, on the left side of it.
