Itinerary description
Mid-winter walk on North Hill Park, starting near the Main Kaifaqu Skytrain Station. The track includes a bicycle ride across town using the bike rental fleet of the Dalian Green-way.
There are gun emplacements and defensive embankments along the ridge (Japan-WWII?) however no related information or accounts were found. The area was also contested during the Russian-Japanese war of 1904-05, and during 19'th century Sino-Japanese wars. Ocean-facing hills below the westernmost waypoint appear to be pockmarked by random pits and have rows of possible trenches, which blend into the forest cover.
The day featured sea fog with poor visibility and some rain.
