There are traces of what was once an abbey in Cong. There are different routes (shorter or longer) from the back of the abbey on the other side of the river. Here is the red (red) routes. High stretches of very straight, striking trees, in some sections of the forest, can be seen.
The popular movie "The Quiet Man" by John Ford was shot here and that's why the town of Cong is known. However, it is worth a visit and then a walk in the woods.
