Continue past first track to fence line directly ahead, then turn left

Electric fence - Hold plastic handle and lift off at least top 2 strand and step over the wires. Make sure you close the gate / fence before you start walking away!

Pass huge tree on your LHS and continue straight ahead.

Follow orange and red arrows into the forest, where you will also see a sign ‘Peace Walkers welcome to Pornoapati’ from old EPW trail.

Follow overgrown path - beware of brambles and stinging nettles. A local man and his son are coming to clear this path for the walkers. Continue along the path, parallel with a fence line on your RHS

Out of the ‘bush bashing adventure’ … The path will have been cleared for you by a local man and his son

Turn right down large dirt road and continue straight ahead into Pornóapáti, past houses, over a small bridge and into the town. The town has 2 roads with a green section down the middle. Walk to the left. There may be a small convenience store and pub next door that are open on your LHS.

Turn left after passing the church on your RHS. Continue along the road. You will pass from Hungary back into Austria.

At the Austrian border turn right at the green sign to the Grenzerfahrungsweg Határélmény Park

Continue over the bridge and turn left and follow the road. The river will be on your RHS. You can walk down either side of the river, but there is an interesting and tragic memorial at the end if you are on the RHS

Cross the border from Hungary into Austria and continue straight ahead along the road

At the T junction turn left and continue straight ahead and through Moschendorf, out of Austria and back into Hungary to Pinkamindszent. At the very end of Pinkamindszent village you will find your accommodation on the RHS in a 2 storey ex-barracks, now the community centre.
