Glenview Hotel, Woodlands and Garden, Wicklow

On a hiking weekend in Wicklow, we stayed in the Glenview Hotel. We had stayed in this hotel many times before and knew of the Hotel Gardens, but we had not explored the lovely woodlands walk which is part of the Glen of the Downs, and once belonged to the Powerscourt Demesne. I started the walk in the gardens and then found my way into the woodlands. I was surprised at the beauty of the walks along the well maintained paths. There is a stream running through the woodlands, several wooden bridges and benches to sit and rest or admire the surroundings. The Woodlands lead back into the beautifully maintained and excluded gardens of the Hotel. There are many plants and shrubs to admire and benches where you can sit and enjoy the gardens. Afterwords, you can have refreshments in the Conservatory Restaurant over looking the gardens and with magical views of the Glen of the Downs.

Fuimos al Hotel Glenview en Wicklow para un fin de semana de senderismo. Anteriormente hemos parado en este Hotel y hemos visitado el precioso jardín delante del Hotel, pero sin visitar el espectacular bosque y camino forestal, que anteriormente formaba parte del el bosque del Glen of the Downs, y que pertenecía a los terrenos del terrateniente de Powerscourt. Empecé mi ruta en los jardines pero pronto entré en el bosque. Me sorprendía la belleza del entorno de la ruta y el buen mantenimiento de los caminos. Hay un arroyo que corta el bosque, unos cuantos puentes de madera, y bancos para sentarse a contemplar y admirar el entorno. Los caminos forestales nos conducían otra vez a los jardines del Hotel, cuidadosamente mantenidos. Aquí también hay muchos arbustos y plantas para admirar, y otra vez bancos para sentarse y disfrutar de este jardín tan elegante. Después se puede tomar un refresco en el Restaurante de la Terraza Interior, con vistas del jardín y el espectacular Valle que es Glen of the Downs.
