Itinerary description
After a short walk from the Glen of Aherlow Hotel turn right through the wood that ends before the village of Lisvarrinane.
Go through the village and then turn right into the forest.
Wrong turn at 4km added an extra 2km for the day but it was still a nice trail to have walked and also with the network of paths all around there is always an alternative route.
Skirt the edge of the forest after 6.2km for another 2.2km and for a nice change of scenery.
Then it’s straight for nearly 4km on a narrow forest path with the occasional view of the valley below from the height of Slievenamuck spur. (there are a number of exit paths south along this path)
At 12.2km explored the possibility of taking a shortcut to the hotel then realizing that it was best to continue going east before turning west back to base.... passing a historic "Mass Rock" along the way.
