Very pleasant walk along Glassilaun Beach, a horseshoe-shaped white sand beach with a stunning mountain backdrop and a set of grass-covered rocks jutting into the sea.
This is without a doubt one of the most amazing beaches in the Connemara region.
Despite its natural beauty, the beach receives few visitors, making it a prime spot for some peace and quiet.
Some of the scenes of the 2006 film Tristan and Isolde, directed by Kevin Reynolds and starring James Franco and Sophia Myles, were filmed on this beach.
From the beach we will see several islands, cross two small streams that flow into the sea and cross grassy sections on sand dunes.

TO HAVE PRESENT:
When the tide is low, as we found it in the morning, we will be able to see shells in baskets on the sand, tongues of water, and cross two isthmuses to explore two small rock peninsulas.
Be careful not to slip when crossing the first isthmus, especially if it is covered with seaweed.
