Itinerary description
This easy walk to the lake starts with a stroll along the beach then crosses under the National Road. Shortly after you will head up what seems to be a private drive to an unoccupied house but keep going and soon it joins the public road. You then meander along an unsealed road, through olive groves, past the occasional herd of sheep until you are almost at the lake. After taking refreshment at the lake, head back to Georgioupolis via a sealed road. To cross the National Road again we took the tunnel within the grounds on the Pilot Beach resort, this approach gives you a chance to cool your heels in the sea as you return to your start point. About 1 hr 45 mins out and an hour for the return. ** Note we turned off the phone to save battery so the track shows we went through the olive trees to get to the lake but we did actually stick to the road.
