Itinerary description
We went by car to Coripe. Our first mistake was to have gone without investigating sufficiently the route directly to the Coripe Station on the Vía Verde. We ended up at parking on the main road. For this reason we had to descend by a gully in order to reach the Via Verde. This part of the road should be avoided by going directly to the old Railway station. There is a pathway down the gully but it is very complicated and dangerous. Our second mistake was to do this route on a sunny Sunday morning. As is to be expected the route was full of people, children, bicycles etc. The pathway is tarmac and cement, it has 5 tunnels , and some nice views. We saw some vultures over the Peñón. We also visited the Roman ruins which are not impressive . On our return journey just after passing the Coripe station we turned2 off towards el Chaparro de la Vega" which is a big tree, 30 meters diameter. It is a route suitable for all the family.
