El primer dia en el crucero por el río Nilo visitamos el Valle de los Reyes, el Templo de la Reina Hatshepsut, el templo de Luxor y el templo de Karnak.
Desde Luxor en autobús nos llevan al valle de los Reyes, en la entrada del valle se queda el autobús y nosotros continuamos el recorrido andando.
El valle de los Reyes es una necrópolis del antiguo Egipto, podemos encontrar las tumbas de la mayoría de los faraones, pero no todas están abiertas, cada cierto tiempo se abren unas y se cierran otras.
Nosotros pudimos ver la tumba de Ramses II, Ramses III, Ramses IV y la de Ramses IX, las tumbas estaban metidas dentro de las montañas, así que para entrar solía ser un pasillo ancho y alto, la longitud podía ir entre 50 y 100 m. de largo, con tendencia a ir bajando.
La decoración de las paredes casi siempre eran las mismos, en algunas se conservan muy bien las pinturas.
Posteriormente cogimos de nuevo el autobús y fuimos al Templo de la Reina Hatshepsut, es considerada la primera mujer en ocupar la posición de faraón. El Templo de Hachepsut se construyó directamente en la roca. Consiste en tres terrazas, con una amplia rampa que las comunica, estas enormes explanadas servían para albergar una gran cantidad de personas.
La mayoría de las tumbas han sido saqueadas, así que los tesoros que quedan se guardan en los museos.
De nuevo cogemos el bus y vemos el templo de Luxor, el templo se sitúa en el centro de la ciudad de Luxor, antiguamente llamada Tebas, en la orilla este del Nilo.
Este templo está dedicado al gran dios Amun-Ra, a su mujer Mut y su hijo Jonsu, está decorado con bajo relieves en sus columnas y los muros.
Posteriormente nos lleva el bus al Templo de Karnak que estaba a unos 3 km del templo de Luxor entre los dos templos existe el paseo de las Esfinges.
El Templo está situado en la orilla este del Nilo en la ciudad de Luxor, la construcción del complejo de Karnak es bastante complicada, dado que más de 30 faraones participaron en su construcción. Cubre más de 100 hectáreas, y según los investigadores señalan que hay 134 columnas en total. Las pinturas de las columnas tienen colores muy bonitos y vivos.
