The first day on the Nile river cruise we visited the Valley of the Kings, the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut, the Luxor temple and the Karnak temple.
From Luxor by bus they take us to the Valley of the Kings, at the entrance of the valley the bus stops and we continue the journey on foot.
The Valley of the Kings is a necropolis from ancient Egypt, we can find the tombs of most of the pharaohs, but not all of them are open, from time to time some are opened and others are closed.
We were able to see the tombs of Ramses II, Ramses III, Ramses IV and Ramses IX, the tombs were inside the mountains, so to enter it used to be a wide and high corridor, the length could be between 50 and 100 m . long, with a tendency to go down.
The decoration of the walls was almost always the same, in some the paintings are very well preserved.
Later we took the bus again and went to the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut, she is considered the first woman to occupy the position of pharaoh. The Temple of Hachepsut was built directly into the rock. It consists of three terraces, with a wide ramp that connects them, these huge esplanades were used to house a large number of people.
Most of the tombs have been looted, so the remaining treasures are kept in museums.
Again we take the bus and see the temple of Luxor, the temple is located in the center of the city of Luxor, formerly called Thebes, on the east bank of the Nile.
This temple is dedicated to the great god Amun-Ra, his wife Mut and his son Jonsu, it is decorated with bas-reliefs on its columns and walls.
Later the bus takes us to the Karnak Temple, which was about 3 km from the Luxor temple, between the two temples there is the walk of the Sphinxes.
The Temple is located on the east bank of the Nile in the city of Luxor, the construction of the Karnak complex is quite complicated, since more than 30 pharaohs participated in its construction. It covers more than 100 hectares, and according to the researchers, there are 134 columns in total. The paintings on the columns have very beautiful and vivid colors.
The straight line is for the bus transfer.
