Itinerary description
I recommend you walk the wall in a counter-clockwise direction if you start from the stairs near the Transit Plaza gate.
Just inside the city gate from the Transit Plaza are a set of stone stairs that will take you up to the wall. Head to your left at the top of the stairs to follow the wall around the city.
The wall has all the old fortifications (parapets, crenellations, etc.) and provides amazing views of the old city, the Adriatic, and the rest of the countryside. You can see all the rooftops in the Old City. It's humbling to see all the work they've done repairing and restoring the buildings damaged by shelling in the war. I appreciate how they've taken the time to reinstall the salvaged originals facing upwards and the new tiles facing downwards to preserve the antique look to this city.
There are several places to eat and drink as well as buy things like local traviza (sp?) and olive oil along the wall. My favorite is the old tower in the NW corner of the walk. If you walk counterclockwise from the beginning, then the tower will be one of the last stops you'll encounter before finishing your loop - Perfect place out of the sun for a cold beer!

Good place to start or stop a tour. Easy to find. Good history about its designer and builder.

Buza - The Hole in the Wall
This isn't on the wall walk but it is visible from the wall. In fact, you'll walk right over it. It is one of the coolest places to go get a drink and hang out. You walk right thru the wall from inside and sit out on the rocks over the Adriatic. Watch sunsets and watch the tour boats go by. I even went cliff jumping. Worth the trip.
