Itinerary description
This track records the day hike traverse of Table Mountain's Aqueduct to view the flowerings of the famous Table Mountain Red Disa flower, otherwise known as the Pride of Table Mountain.
Starting and finishing at the copper model of the Cape Peninsula, having gained access via the Aerial Cableway, this route takes the most direct route to view these flowers, which only bloom from mid-January to early March each year.
We were lucky enough to spot the very rare Blue Disa. Their locations may vary to what is way-pointed on this track. Look out for the Cluster Disa and King Protea.
Be sure to carry a sun hat, sunscreen, food, lots of water and all weather clothes as the weather changes very quickly. The trail is quite exposed, technical underfoot and simply provides one of the best circuits the mountain has to offer.
