Itinerary description
Déjà vu is just a repeat of a previously recorded trail. The G.P.S. malfunctioned on the way back so the map leaves a lot to be desired. On the bright side, a lot of the major depressions on the road out through Craignish and Matilda are now repaired. This laughably light walking trail starts just outside of Princes' Town in Iere Village. It traverses the Naparima-Mayaro Road into and then out of Princes' Town. The traffic is usually very dense along the Naparima-Mayaro Road for most of the day so be aware. The sidewalks are in a state of dis-repair where they actually exist. There are also quite a bit of stray dogs along the route as well as dogs that delinquent owners just let roam free unattended. There are a few scenic views through the villages of Craignish, Matilda, and St. Julien. This walk is best done in the early morning or the late evening because there is no canopy cover along the entire way. This makes it very difficult during peak sunshine hours. Typically the humidex values approach 43°C and above so lots of hydration is essential. It is also a good idea to take along sunscreen with a high SPF. There are quite a few local restaurants along the way as well as cottage industry. This gives one an opportunity to purchase any of the local fruits "in season." This trek makes a great early morning or late evening stroll...
