Waypoints
Plaza del Torico
Central pedestrian-only plaza surrounded by historical architecture, with outdoor dining options and a unique bull-themed central fountain. Photos are in mid-morning on a cold January day. Outdoor tables are being set, mostly on north side, presumably to catch some warmer afternoon sun.
Torre de El Salvador
Moorish influenced historical tower. A very close twin of Torre San Martin farther to the north. Torre San Martin is on the Plaza de Perez Prado, farther north, and is much easier to view than Torre de El Salvador.
Views over Escalinata del Óvalo
This waypoint is on a roadside balcony overlooking the Escalinata del Óvalo, a small park, and the city's Train Station. The Escalinata del Óvalo has Intricate brick construction, and there are interesting ironworks along the balcony. Views of hills to the west.
Iglesia and Torre de San Martin, Plaza de Perez Prado
The church tower of San Martín is one of the UNESCO World Heritage sites designated around Teruel. Across the Plaza is the Moorish Torre de San Martin, a twin of the Torre de Salvador further south.
Catedral de Santa María de Mediavilla
Located on the Plaza Venerable Francis de Aranda, also signed as Pl. del Obispo. The Cathedral is one of the Teruel sites included in the UNESCO World Heritage designation.
Plaza de San Juan
A large open plaza with outdoor seating near the south end of the old town. Municipal or provincial government buildings are located on the Plaza.
Viaducto de Fernando Hué
From plaque on Viaduct: "Viaducto de Fernando Hué de La Barrera (1929 - 2009)" Pedestrian bridge connecting the Old City and areas to the south. Crosses a deep ravine. The large Fueros Park is farther to the south from the bridge (not on this track).
Acueducto de los Arcos
Ancient water supply to city. Said to be original and unique to Teruel. Some free parking was available at this location.
