Itinerary description
The old colonial center of Haikou has been preserved, the buildings somewhat dilapidated. They are illuminated at night to good effect.
The Town of "Wenchang" also has a small preserved colonial center, perhaps more rustic, less commercialized, and off the beaten track. It is less than an hour by train to the East, past the airport. Good for a day visit.
