The Plakánek Valley runs from Kost Castle around the Obora pond to the village of Střehom.
The route begins in the parking lot of the Podkost hotel, because when we visited it on 04/04/2024, it was all closed and empty, but at another time of the year you will have to park in the parking lot under the castle, about 200m away.
From there we travel through the Plakara valley, crossing the pond and arriving at a very well preserved water mill. A little further on there is a tavern, but it was closed. We return along the same path.
📝The Plakánek Valley is known for several sandstone quarries: the stone was used for the construction of Kost Castle and the Sobotka Church.
