Calzada Medieval de Grazalema
This route starts by the Mirador and Plaza de los Asomaderos in the heart of Grazalema.
The route traces the lower part of Grazalema, around the River Guadalete, and follows an ancient, restored Medieval road, made using locally quarried limestone. The Medieval road of Grazalema is an extension of the two thousand year old route that crosses Manga de Villaluenga. Its path is defined by the rocky formation close to which it is located, with steep, narrow slopes.
The forest along the banks of the River Guadalete is formed by willows, ashes, oaks and alders, amongst others, and the valley is known as Las Veguetas.
