Til að komast að Bjargi er beygt af þjóðvegi 1 inn á Laugarbakka og keyrt um 10 km inn Miðfjörð. Bjarg í Miðfirði er fæðingarstaður Grettis "sterka" Ásmundarson sem fæddist árið 996. Á Bjargi er minnisvarði um móður Grettis, Ásdísi, ásamt nokkrum steinum er kallast Grettistök. Einnig er þar Grettisþúfa sem staðsett er á túninu við bæinn en þar er höfuð Grettis talið grafið. Á Bjargi hefur verið reistur minnisvarð um Ásdísi móður Grettis. Gönguleiðin, sem liggur frá minnisvarðanum og upp að reitt sem liggur fyrir ofan bæinn Bjarg, er auðgengin og fjölskylduvæn.
To get to Bjarg, turn off Highway 1 into Laugarbakki and drive about 10 km into Miðfjörður. Bjarg in Miðfjörður is the birthplace of Grettir " the strong" Ásmundarson who was born in 996. Bjarg has a monument to Grettir's mother, Ásdís, along with some stones called Grettistök. There is also Grettisþúfa which is located on the meadow by the farm where Grettir's head is believed to be buried. A monument to Ásdís Grettir's mother is located at the hill next to the parking lot before entering Bjarg. The hiking trail, which runs from the monument to the field above Bjarg, is accessible and family-friendly.
