Itinerary description

The walk started at the Seepromenade along the lake Tegernsee near the Hotel Seegarten, where I just had my lunch. After a lovely stroll along the lake shore, admiring the beautiful colour of the clear water, I left the lake and walked along the river Söllbach. I then crossed Sanktjohanserstraße and started the climb up the hill. The road was not too steep but as this was my second walk of the day, I started to feel a bit tired with my legs. Finally, I reached Bauer in der Au, the highest point of the path. However, the restaurant/guest house was not open on that day and I could not get the rest I wanted. Anyway, I kept on walking. After a few turns, the view suddenly opened up and I could see the lake down the hill. What a wonderful view! Feeling a bit refreshed, I finally got down the hill and made a stop at the Abwinkler Hof, where I had a taste of Apfelringe, a perfect recommendation from the waiter. After the much needed rest, I headed to the ferry pier of Abwinkl and then walked along the Seepromenade back to the starting point of the path.
