Itinerary description
A very nice walk in the surroundings of Bastogne, a small village in the belgian province of Luxemburg, which was sieged during World War II, and where the Battle of the Bulge took place. The route starts in the Bastogne War Museum.
The walk passes trough the Ardennes forest and fields, passes by the memotial of
101st Easy Company-Battle of the Bulge (101st Airborne), and runs amindst WWII Foxholes of the 101st Easy Company at the Bois de Jaques. A ticket can be purchased in the Bastogne War Museum in order to be able to see the foxholes (webpage available at the end of the description.
The rute also deviates a bit of the hicking path to the Bois de la Paix memorial and get the feeling of wandering around the woods in bad weather winter.
