Itinerary description

Levada da Negra is a less frequently visited levada walk. We parked in some well defined flat parking areas just before the road started to climb steeply and walked along the road until it started to go downhill again. The levada trail starts at the end of a narrow road leading to the woods behind a metal house. Lots of barking dogs in the surrounding properties- but don’t be put off - keep walking and you will soon be the ascending to the levada. In places the path is quite slippery if it’s damp otherwise an easy trail. We turned around at about 2.5km because the path started to deteriorate but it looks like it continues further and some people have started at the other end.
