Itinerary description
This is a trail to Apollo Hylates sanctuary, the photo of the trail map is a bit misleading as it is of Episkopi trail, which we didn’t walk this time. But the starting point may be used for the both trails.
The actual linear trail is rather short and goes alongside the main asphalt road but we made a loop accidentally )))
SEASON: the trail is fully exposed to the sun but often there is a nice breeze from the sea.
TERRAIN: mostly gravel and dirt roads, as well some wild terrain and rocky path on the way to the sanctuary.
SINGS: in the beginning signs are a bit misleading as they work for the both trails and to my mind one sign was the most misleading showing 3,5 km to the left and 0,5 km to the right, it should be the other way around as it is for Episkopi trail most likely. But we didn’t know that and walked all the linear road to the dogs training territory.
The signs on the original trail (we used it on our way back from the sanctuary) are well and often placed, both for directions and species.
KIDS: walkable with kids of all ages, especially the original trail.
There are plenty of parking places at the beginning of the trail.
Entrance to the sanctuary is 2.50€ for adults, kids’ admission is free.

We turned right here and then back
The wood one is quite misleading sign as there is no official trail of 3,5 km to the left. In order to get to official trail, you need to come back to the stadium. However to the right there is Episkopi trail, which is exactly about 3,5 km from that point.
