Visit to the Monkey Park
We leave the Park and walk along the beach to Bijilo's apartment.
Bijilo Forest Park & Nature Trail (Monkey Park) is located in the coastal area, next to the beach, about 11 km west of the capital Banjul, in the district of Kombo Saint Mary, The Gambia in the 'West Africa. The closed, species-rich forest was published in 1952 and covers an area of 51.3 hectares (126 acres / about half a square km) and is located on the beach of the Atlantic Ocean at the southern end of the area of Kololi de Senegambia .. It has a total length of 1,500 meters parallel to the coast and a width of 350 meters, and the soils are deep and well drained. The protected nature reserve consists mainly of a closed canopy forest with a significant number of rhun palms and a relatively thin strip of dune herbaceous vegetation.
