Itinerary description
I visited Zagreb in 1990, shortly after the fall of the wall, when the shadow of the iron curtain still lingered upon the city and the war that torn out the country to which it belonged lay still in the future... It was strange to visit a city that seems as a superposition of two towns, an ols historical and a new with an architecture and urbanism that were strange to me. More than 30 years later, with the hotel I was lodging was not far from the Sava, the soviet inspired era long gone it was an opportunity to walk around the neighboroods of a gone era that are inhabited by new people with a new spirit... It was an enjoyable sunset walk...
Although I started the trip by the statue of Mayor Holjevac , today encased by some roadworks, I found it interesting to finish it by the statue of Franjo Tudman, a man that closed on era and opened a new one...
