Το «Αθανασάκειο» αρχαιολογικό Μουσείο Βόλου είναι από τα πρώτα και σημαντικότερα
μουσεία της χώρας. Χτίστηκε το 1909, για να στεγάσει τις μοναδικές χρωματισμένες
επιτύμβιες στήλες από το νεκροταφείο της αρχαίας Δημητριάδας. Η νέα μόνιμη έκθεση του Μουσείου, που εγκαινιάστηκε το 2004, αναπτύσσεται σε οκτώ αίθουσες και περιλαμβάνει αρχαιολογικά ευρήματα από τη νεολιθική περίοδο έως και τα ρωμαϊκά χρόνια, από το σύνολο των ανασκαφών που πραγματοποιήθηκαν στο Νομό Μαγνησίας.
The "Athanasakeio" Archaeological Museum of Volos is one of the first and most important museums of the country. It was built in 1909, to house the unique colored ones tombstones from the cemetery of ancient Demitriada. The new permanent exhibition of the Museum, inaugurated in 2004, is developed in eight rooms and includes archaeological finds from the Neolithic period to the Roman years, from all the excavations carried out in the Prefecture of Magnesia.

Πρόκειται για το γνωστό στους βολιώτες κόκκινο σπίτι στη διασταύρωση των οδών. Γαζή και Βλαχάβα. Ανήκε στη ζωγράφο Χρυσούλα Ζώγια, η οποία το 1971 το δώρισε στο Δήμο Βόλου. Στους χώρους του εκτίθενται 250 περίπου έργα της ζωγράφου (προσωπογραφίες, ύπαιθρα με θέματα συνήθως γνωστά σπίτια της περιοχής, εξωτερικά κι εσωτερικά ναών, σχέδια με μελάνι και μολύβι). Ξεχωριστό ενδιαφέρον παρουσιάζουν η επίπλωση του σπιτιού, οι αμέτρητες σημειώσεις της που βρίσκονται παντού, οι φωτογραφίες της, τα προσωπικά της αντικείμενα, τεκμήρια της ιδιαίτερης προσωπικότητάς της.
This is the red house known to the people of Volos at the intersection of the streets. Gazi and Vlachava. It belonged to the painter Chrysoula Zogia, who in 1971 donated it to the Municipality of Volos.
