Waypoints
Part of ancient Mìthimna.
Nice view towards the village and that fortress. There are benches overlooking the sea.
Aghìa Marìna chapel. Old post office.
On your way to the main cobblestone street and the next waypoint, on your left, you can see the old abandoned post office building next to a double ottoman faucet.
Former municipality hall, used to be a school at the decades of ‘50 & 60.
Visit it’s yard.
Public historical library.
Since 1859, it has been operating as a lending library, a reading room and includes a great number of old significant editions and books.
The Ottoman baths of Mìthimna.
A must visit. It has been renovated and is open as a museum. Great atmosphere and perfect acoustic. Occasionally hosts exhibitions and musical events. Free entrance.
Mithimna's fortress.
The 2nd largest fortress on Lesvos. Built in the 14th century, on top of ancient Greek & Byzantine Acropolis by the Gatelouz rulers of the island. Repairs and additions were made later by the Ottomans.
