Itinerary description

Dog friendly on a lead with opportunity for swims in the Puhoi River (be aware of strong currents that may be about...)

Note that Dogs are not allowed in Wenderholm Regional Park segment itself, where the walk begins and ends, so pick up the track as applicable. (see signs, POI 3, etc).

Vins track is yet to be explored and looks a more "foresty" segment that's worth a wander.

POI 03 - Dog Friendly Start and End Point

Good start/end point for heading out with dogs. A good shady spot under the Puriri Trees? Toilet facilities handy, parking for those in cars. Note : The Perimeter Track at Wenderholm also starts around here. The dog friendly segment of this heads in the Waiwera direction,with great trees and shade. The dog friendly segment ends when you reach the sandy beach on the edge of The Waiwera River and Estuary. See here for further detail : https://flic.kr/s/aHsmEn4EN1
