Itinerary description
In a century far far away, while slaves were still picking stones from an old quarry to build the magnificent palace for Emperor Diocletian, so he has a place to sleep while on vacation in Split, a small but very significant figure appeared in Splitska, just a few kilometers from Supetar. It was the mighty Hercules, arising from rock, to guard the slaves. Legend says slaves secretly engraved his image while working in Rasohe quarry, believing he will protect them from harm and make them feel stronger.
Recently, a path has been cleared, and a tourist-archaeological route has been marked on the boardwalk in Splitska, leading to the Rasohe quarry and the relief of Hercules. Hercules is depicted naked, with only the Nemean lion-skin draped over his left shoulder.
