Do not ask me to delete photos. It is impossible for me They all have their charm.
The greatest fortune that the amateur of nature photography can have is to arrive at the right place, in the appropriate season of the year (autumn), the most auspicious day and the best time. This has happened to us in the lakes of Plitvice

Plitvice Lakes - Unesco Reserve National Park

Plitvice could be known as the Paradise of Water, as it has 16 small lakes, in addition to multiple waterfalls and streams. Declared a Natural Park by the authorities of the former Yugoslavia in 1949, the Plitvice Lakes have been recognized by UNESCO as a nature reserve since 1979.
Plitvice Lakes Waterfalls
The Plitvice Park has 30,000 hectares of pristine nature. If we choose to visit it during the week and in the early hours when the "population" of tourists is smaller, the contemplation of the largest waterfall in the park, with 76 meters of free fall, or the beech forests will produce an effect of indescribable peace.
Plitvice is mostly beech (75%), pretty fir and little pine. In addition, yellow toads, a handful of lynxes, deer and owls.
In the entrance panels to the park of Plitvice the most frequent word is travertine. It refers to that miracle that turns moss and plants into rock. Travertine is a sedimentary rock of partially biogenic origin, formed by deposits of calcium carbonate.
The 16 resulting lakes are baptized according to the drowned ones that the legends count under their waters. One is the Lake of the Gypsy; another, that of the Grandmother; there is also that of Pastor Mile, and closer, the greatest of all, that of the Goats. It is 2.5 kilometers long, a distance more than reasonable to sink the optimism of 30 goats who relied too much on the strength of the ice to flee from the wolves. With greater prudence, today it is possible to cross it by boat.
Under these pools there are also jewels such as the curious Astacus astacus crayfish, which uses calcareous material to coat its shell becoming more and more of stone. And the proteo, an unusual salamander that only inhabits these caves, without eyes and without any pigmentation, all flesh-colored, as God brought it to the world.
Plitvice was, according to the old cartography, "the garden of the devil". Today it has recovered its splendor of Eden, despite having become another hell during the war, when Serbian guerrillas kidnapped the park and threatened to even fly their lakes. Fortunately, the blood did not reach the river. Red has never been a dominant color in the wide palette that the waters of Plitvice show. The color of these lakes can range from the gray mirror of a Finnish pond to the transparent turquoise of the Caribbean beach. The water changes color from hour to hour and from shore to shore. Everything depends on a thousand factors, such as the amount of minerals and organisms of the depths, rain, moss or the angle of light.
The Park is divided naturally in the area of Lake Superior and Lake Inferior. At the top we find a total of 12 lakes, Proscansko, Ciginovac, Okrugljak, Batinovac, Big Lake, a small lake, Vir, Galovac, Milino, Gradinsko Lake, Big burget and Kozjak. In this area we also find numerous cavities, for what is known as the Cave Park, although there are small stairs to access the interior of some waterfalls, nowadays it is not possible to visit. Near Lake Burg, you can see the remains of a hydroelectric power plant that tried to take advantage of natural resources, but that ultimately did not work.

The lower system of the Lakes hosts four lakes, which are, Milanovac, Gavanovac, Kaluderovac and Novakovic Brod. In this area almost all the canyons reach 40 meters high, giving this place an extreme beauty. A suitable path for visitors skirts Lake Milanovac, practically in the air we can pass near one of the most important waterfalls, Milka Ternina, who was one of the most famous opera singers in Croatia. At the bottom is the so-called Blue Grotto that houses many legends inside.
