2.5km - Passeio à beira mar/Walk at the coast

Passeio à beira mar à descoberta da Praia do Tonel.

Usufrua deste passeio a pé e observe a natureza ao seu redor. Algumas observações:

Entrada das Barcas - porto de pesca
Um porto de pesca pitoresco localizado numa enseada que a natureza proporcionou. As atividades são visivelmente realizadas de forma artesanal e a imagem que nos é oferecida leva-nos um pouco atrás no tempo. No aglomerado de casas de madeira à entrada, aonde alguns pescadores ainda vivem e outros tem os seus materiais de trabalho guardados, consegue por vezes ver os polvos a secar. Tradições.

Cistus ladanifer - Esteva/ Gum rock rose
Um arbusto que atinge 1-2,5m de altura e largura, folhas verdes escuras e flores maravilhosas com 5 pétalas brancas finas, normalmente um ponto vermelho a castanho na base que rodeia o seu centro (estames e pistilos) amarelo. As folhas libertam uma resina aromática que e é usada em perfumes. Floração de Janeiro a Junho.

Cegonhas/ Storks
Quando chega às falésias observe o ninho de cegonhas que se encontra na encosta. Um animal fabuloso. Portugal é um dos únicos países em que elas fazem o ninho em rochas afastadas da terra. Todas as manhãs elas viram-se para o nascer do sol e secam as suas penas.

Praia do Tonel
Uma praia maravilhosa com grandes falésias e água cristalina. O acesso à praia é difícil mas não impossível. Se tiver força para se segurar por cordas e algum equilíbrio - vá à aventura! A perspetiva para a praia, do lado direito da mesma, parece em forma de coração para os mais românticos!

Restaurante "O Sacas"
Depois da caminhada é uma ótima esplanada para se tomar um refresco e provar as nossas ameijoas à bulhão pato e os percebes da costa. Um restaurante localizado ao lado da lota que garante produtos sempre frescos.

Enjoy this walk and observe nature around you. Some observations:

Entrada das Barcas - Fishing port
A small fishing port, located in a natural bay, where the activity is visibly performed in a traditional way. The beautiful scenario offered to us takes us litle bit back in time. At the wood houses at the entrance, where some fishermen still live and others have their work material, sometimes you can see how they dry octopus. Traditions.

Cistus ladanifer - Esteva/ Gum rock rose
A shrub that reaches 1-2,5m in height and width. Has dark green leaves and beautiful flowers with white thin petals and a red to braun point at the base. The center (stamens and pistils) of the flower is yellow. The leaves release an aromatic resin that is used in perfumes. Floration is from January to June.

Storks
When you arrive at the cliffs observe the stork nest. A wonderful animal. Portugal is one of the only countries where you can see the stork nest on rocks separated from the earth. Every morning they turn to the sunrise and dry their feathers.

Tonel Beach
A wonderful secluded beach with big cliffs and cristal water. The access to the beach is dificult but not impossible. If you are strong enough to hold you on a rope and you have some balance - go for the adventure! The perspective from the beach, from the right side, looks like a heart, for the most romantic!

"O Sacas" restaurant
After the walk, this restaurant has a great terrace to have a refreshment and to try our clams "à bulhão pato" and barnacles from the coast. A restaurant located next to the fishing port assures always fresh products.
