Note géographique et géologique
La vallée de la Dordogne est riche en alluvions et bordée de coteaux vinicoles formés par les molasses continentales du Tertiaire.
Note historique
En 1254, Henri III accorde aux habitants de Bergerac le droit de transporter leur vin par la rivière jusqu'à Libourne, et les exempta de taxes pour son importation en Angleterre. A la fin du XIIIème siècle, la moitié des vins importé du port Bristol provenaient de Bergerac.
A visiter: Musée du vin et de la batellerie, musée du tabac, centre-ville

Historical notes
In 1254, Henry III granted the inhabitants of Bergerac the right to transport their wine by the river to Libourne, and exempted them from taxes for importation into England. At the end of the 13th century, half of the wines imported from the Bristol port came from Bergerac.
