Itinerary description
community: ARBUS
type of walk: ONE-WAY
start & end: THE EX-WASHERY BRASSEY
lenght: 5,5 KM
altitude difference: 10 M
recommended age: FROM 6 YEARS
best time of year: ALL YEAR ROUND
The walks begins at the Ex-Washery Brassey at Naracauli. Follow the small stream Riu de Naracauli and admire the moon-like scenery. You are able to feel directly the old mining history of this region. In the late 19th and the early 20th century mining was the main economy here. Today we can witness the remains of that time. The further you walk you have to cross the stream a couple of times and you slowly enter a more dense vegetation, until it becomes a small forest. The path is easy and fairy-tale like.
For quite some while you walk through a dense forest of strawberry, juniper, wild olive and oak trees. The small stream Riu de Naracauli is always on your left. At the height of the Camping Sciopadroxiu you reach an old picnic area. Depending on the season the river holds little to a lot of water, which makes its passing easy or challenging. At one point of the walk you have to cross it though, in order to reach the gravel road that finally leads to the Piscinas beach. Here the walk ends. Allow enough time to explore this beautiful beach and the sand dunes. If you don’t want to walk back, you have to park a 2nd car at the beach parking area or find another ride back to Naracauli.
ENJOY THE WALK!
