Itinerary description
Via Ferrata from Cheile Turzii it's a fast and spectacular.
Start of from the Turda Gorge Parking (you can find it on Google Maps). Head on to the SALVAMONT Cabin, it is visible from the parking. From here you continue towards Cheile Turzii trail and will pass 4 bridges. At the 4th bridge you will have to make a right, and not go on the obvious left trail. Taking the right trail will ascend and will reach a cross trail. You will need to take the right trail. Continue and you will reach two cables on the way on which you will have to clip on, but they aren't the ferrata. After the two cables you will go up on a trail again a bit more and reach the VIA Ferrata. The time till the ferrata is around 1:00h.
From here you will clip on the thick cable (thickest I ever saw). The route starts of easy going up, traversing a wall and it becomes interesting in the second half, which goes up and through the Hili cave. The ferrata itself it takes around 1:00h.
After the ferrata you will need to free climb for about 5 min until a Top Cross. CAUTION: This short climb has no cables or safety and it's exposed. For someone with fear of heights this could be harder to pass than the actual ferrata so bring some rope to tie the climbing members. Once you reach the Top Cross the return route it's straight froward on the Red Dot which will take you back down to the parking. The retreat will take about 1:00h as well.
