Itinerary description
Via ferrata din Peretele Zanelor (the fairy wall) is an easy accessible route with beautiful views for a awesome experience. This route I would recommend for beginners as it has a little bit of all the dangers as well as all the beauty that comes with via ferratas.
The route starts by accessing the village "Vadu Crisului". You would need to go in the direction of the "Peretele Zanelor" mark in google maps. If you come by car the road doesn't stop where google map has it ended, you will be able to drive a bit more until a improvised parking next to the rail road and a bridge. From here the route begins.
To access the ferrata you will need to walk right besides the rail road (CAUTION: trains are passing on this quite alot) for about 5 to 10 min. You will see a sign on the left with "Pestera Casa Zmeului" which you will pass and in a very short while you will see again on the left an arrow indication which will say "Via Ferrata". Leaving the rail road, follow the trail upwards for 3 min and reach the base of the ferrata.
From here the ferrata begins and usually takes about 45 min to 1 hour. it is not long and pretty easy. However, be very careful for rock fall, real danger on this route, so please wear a helmet and while on the route be careful not to dislocate rocks downward on other people.
Once up, you will immediately find the route down as it is marked. The route will go to the left. The retreat will take about 30 min.
Total time: 1:40 min

Paretele Zanelor is the first ferrata we did. It is really good for beginners, but anyway you need a good physical condition. We had a guide took us through and if you are beginner we highly recommend this guy - Iuhas Adrian, Master Adventure. He can provide you with equipment and guide you all the way through.
